Ocean City / Brighton Place Description
Ocean City is a family resort. It maintains its family image with a
rich, diverse religious tradition, having evolved originally from a Methodist
summer vacation town. It is dry, i.e. alcoholic beverages are
not permitted to be sold or consumed in public facilities. The Ocean City
Music Pier offers excellent musical / cultural programs throughout the summer.
Ocean Citys boardwalk runs 2 & ½ miles from approx. 1st St.
(north end) to 23rd St. (south end). The boardwalk stores / amusements run
from 6th St. to 14th St.
In short, Ocean City, New Jersey is a wonderful place to spend a family vacation!
Brighton Place is 2 blocks long. One long block (Atlantic Ave. to Corinthian
Ave.) and one short (5 houses) block (Corinthian Ave. to the beach). Brighton
Place runs in an east- west direction between Atlantic Ave. and the boardwalk.
It runs parallel to the numbered streets and is located between 4th St. and
5th St. The property at 849 Brighton Place is 16 houses to beach/boardwalk.
The property at 833 Brighton Place is an additional 8 houses further from
the beach/boardwalk.
There are 2 blocks of empty boardwalk between Brighton Place and the stores
/ amusements starting at 6th St. The block between 5th St. and 6th St. is
the municipal block, i.e. it contains shuffleboard, basketball, tennis and
track & field facilities. Brighton Place is conveniently located close
(but not too close) to food stores, amusements and shopping. A Catholic church
is located 3 blocks away (2nd St. & Atlantic Ave.). A nondenominational
church is two blocks away (5th St. & Wesley Ave.) and numerous other
churches within walking distance. A nice Thriftway Food store is a 4 block
walk (4th St. & Asbury Ave.). The shopping district and a new Super Fresh
Store is 9 blocks away (8th St. & West Ave.). |
