Dixon Kemp's Manual of Yacht and Boat Sailing went through 11 editions all during some of the most interesting years in yachting. I have his Dictionary from the First Edition in xerox form too.Click here to go directly to the first page.
About the Dictionary:
Items which also appear in the Dictionary in the first edition will be flagged in red. I may also add, in brackets, terms which have vanished in the 11th edition though I will not add their definitions because I don't have an OCR-able copy of the 1878 first edition. I may add any significant items from the first edition, however, at some later point in an Appendix to the Dictionary.
Production Notes:
Individual pages in the Dictionary have not received final proofing so there are possibly typos and a few missing words. Some paragraph formatting will probably look completely wacko.There are few illustrations yet.

Let the individual page load and then use the Find command in your browser.
Spelling Notes:
The spelling and punctuation have been changed only slightly and in usually the English spelling has been preserved. The main changes are as usual eliminating rampant hyphenated-terms.
