Arranging author and illustrator visits to your school, library, or bookstore

Most publishers are happy to help you arrange visits by children's authors and illustrators. This is almost always done through a special contact within the publicity department of the publishing house. You should note that there will almost always be costs involved in such a visit, although the charges may vary widely. Some of the costs of a visit can be offset by selling the author's or illustrator's books.

A virtual visit is easily and inexpensively arranged. Many publishers have videos available about some of their authors. Although a video cannot substitute for an in-person visit, for the most part, these videos are quite good, and can enhance enjoyment of an author or illustrator's books.

We are endeavoring to update our list of appropriate contact persons at the major publishing houses. If you are interested in planning a visit by a particular author or illustrator, check back to see which publishers have published his/her work, then contact that publisher.
