Due to an SMTP Authentication compatibility issue with Netscape 4.5 – 4.8,
after you make the settings change below, you are required to input your
password for the first e-mail message you send every time you
open your Netscape e-mail program (Netscape Messenger).

programs no longer require this manual password input, so this may be the
best and most convenient time for you to upgrade to Netscape 7 or to another
e-mail program. (Note: Mail in your current version of Netscape 4.x will
not display
in Netscape 7, unless you import it. Instructions on importing you mail
can be found at http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/faq.jsp.)
There are many sites for downloading the latest version of the e-mail
program of your choice. For example, you may download Netscape 7 from http://browsers.netscape.com.
