SPAM

Q: What is SPAM?
A: The word SPAM refers to any unsolicited mail in your e-mailbox. This can be unwanted advertisements, etc.

Q: Can I request to have my mailbox pre-filtered for SPAM?
A: Yes. While it is impossible to fully eliminate SPAM, we have have a FREE service available to our @friend.ly.net mailbox holders. We will examine any incoming mail addressed to you by checking for adherence to the latest Internet Mail specifications. If a message is sent from a known SPAMMER or does not adhere to Internet mail standards, we will hold that mail in a queue for a period of one week. Those who request to have their mail pre-filtered can periodically log into our web site and check for any messages in the spam queue that may be valid. If the message is not claimed within one week, it will be discarded. Subscribers should note that it may be possible that a wanted mail message may be caught in the spam filter in the event that the sender is not adhering to latest Internet mail standards. This service does not guarantee that all spam will be intercepted or that only spam will be filtered; however, many clients have found this service extremely useful with little or no negative effects.

Q:How can I check for messages in the SPAM queue that were addressed to me?
A: You can go to: http://spamq.friend.ly.net/spamqueue/index.php and enter your e-mail address in the Search the SPAM Queue field to get a list of messages addressed to you but are currently being held because they fit the SPAM mail profile.
